A Mile from Home is a 2013 Nigerian action-drama movie created by Eric Aghimien. It stars Tope Tedela, Chiedozie “Sambasa” Nzeribe, Alex Ayalogu, Eric Nwanso, and Tolu Akinbileje. The story follows Jude Odaro, a university student who struggles with his identity and joins a gang to avenge a wrong done to him by a gangster named Stone.

Suku, the gang leader, loves Jude and makes him the second-in-command, giving him the name Lala. While in the gang, Jude grows closer to Ivie, Suku’s girlfriend, and becomes willing to die for her.

Another thread follows Don Kolo, a drug dealer who has just been released from prison in South Africa and returns home to restart his business. He hopes to grab a big drug shipment that Suku’s gang has, with help from their contact Chief Lukas, and will do anything to take it from them.

The film was nominated at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, where Tedela won Best Actor in a Drama. It also won the 2014 Africa Movie Academy Award for Achievement in Visual Effects. A Mile from Home is in English, produced by Hills Pictures, and was released on June 13, 2013.
