Cintija Ašperger, known in English as Cynthia Ashperger, is a Croatian‑Canadian actress who works in film, television and theatre. She was born in Zagreb on May 4, 1963, and began acting in Yugoslavia, including the film S.P.U.K. She met Canadian director Allan Eastman while filming the 1987 TV movie Race for the Bomb, and later married him. She divided her time between Canada and Yugoslavia until the Yugoslav Wars began in 1991. In 1995 she moved to Canada permanently and taught drama at Ryerson University in Toronto. On stage she has performed in Out of Spite (a one‑woman show based on Elma Softic), Not Spain and Feral Child. Her TV credits include Degrassi and ZOS: Zone of Separation. She was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2016 for The Waiting Room, and for a Dora Mavor Moore Award for Best Performance by an Actress in the Independent Theatre Division for Feral Child.
