Tom McInnes (footballer, born 1873)
Thomas Fair MacAulay McInnes (8 July 1873 – 1 December 1937) was a Scottish footballer who played as an inside forward. Born in Bowling, Scotland, he moved to Newcastle at 16 to work as a rivetter and played for East End and West End before returning home to Clyde in 1892. He earned a Scottish League XI appearance that year, scoring twice.
In 1892 he joined Nottingham Forest, helping them win the 1898 FA Cup and making 167 league appearances with 48 goals. After leaving Forest in 1899, he played for Bristol Rovers for a season, then Lincoln City from 1900 to 1903, where he was the club’s top scorer in 1901–02 with 14 goals in all competitions. He finished with Port Glasgow Athletic (one appearance).
Across the Football League, he scored 68 goals in 246 appearances for Forest and Lincoln City. McInnes died in Dalmuir, Scotland, in 1937 at the age of 64.
