2025–26 Top 14 season
The 2025–26 Top 14 season in France runs from 6 September 2025 to 27 June 2026. It is the 127th edition of France’s top rugby competition, run by the Ligue Nationale de Rugby (LNR). Fourteen clubs compete.
After playing each other home and away, the top six teams move to a knockout phase to decide the champion. The quarter-finals feature teams finishing 3rd to 6th, with the 3rd and 4th hosting. The winners go on to the semi-finals against the 1st and 2nd, and the final is played at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis.
France uses a unique bonus point system designed to limit bonus points for losing teams, and there are no bonus points in drawn matches. Since the 2017–18 season, the 14th-placed team is automatically relegated to Pro D2. The 13th-placed team must beat the Pro D2 runner-up in a playoff to stay in Top 14.
For 2025–26, 14 clubs compete, with 12 returning from last season. Vannes finished bottom and were relegated to Pro D2. Montauban earned promotion by finishing 6th in Pro D2 and winning the playoffs. Perpignan, who were 13th last season, defeated Grenoble in the relegation playoff to remain in the Top 14.
