Honky Tonk Angel (Ellen McIlwaine album)
Honky Tonk Angel is Ellen McIlwaine’s debut solo album, released in March 1972 after she left Fear Itself. It combines a live side and a studio side: Side A was recorded live at The Bitter End in New York City, while Side B contains studio recordings (tracks 1–3 and 5 at Record Plant Studios in New York, track 4 at Burmese Records Studio in New York). The album is 37 minutes and 46 seconds long, was released by Polydor, and produced by Peter K. Seigel. It was followed by her 1973 album We the People. In 1993, Polydor issued a CD version pairing Honky Tonk Angel with We the People under the title Up From the Skies: The Polydor Years.
