2023 Montana Grizzlies football team
The 2023 Montana Grizzlies football team represented the University of Montana in the Big Sky Conference during the 2023 NCAA Division I FCS season. Led by 13th-year head coach Bobby Hauck, they played home games at Washington–Grizzly Stadium in Missoula, Montana, and drew an average attendance of 26,269.
They finished 13–2 overall and 7–1 in the Big Sky, earning the conference title and advancing to the NCAA Division I Football Championship Game, where they lost to South Dakota State 3–23.
Preseason expectations had the Grizzlies picked sixth in the Big Sky by coaches and third by the media. Five players were named to the preseason All-Big Sky team: Hunter Mayginnes (OL), Alex Gubner (DT), Levi Janacaro (LB), Trevin Gradney (ST), and Junior Bergen (PR).
Offense was coordinated by Brent Pease in his first year, and defense by Ronnie Bradford in his first year. The team used a multiple offense and a 4–3 base defense.
