The Chico State Wildcats represented California State University, Chico in the Northern California Athletic Conference (NCAC) during the 1985 NCAA Division II football season. Led by second-year head coach Mike Bellotti, Chico State finished 4–4–1 overall, with a 3–1–1 record in NCAC play, placing second in the conference. The team scored 202 points and allowed 201 points over the season. Home games were played at University Stadium in Chico, California.
