2020 Scottish Women's Premier League 2
The 2020 Scottish Women's Premier League 2 (SWPL 2) was meant to be the fifth season of Scotland's second-tier women's football, below SWPL 1 and above the new SWF Championship. Hearts of Midlothian had won the 2019 SWPL 2 and were promoted to SWPL 1, while Stirling University moved down to SWPL 2. Aberdeen, Queen's Park and Boroughmuir Thistle joined SWPL 2 from the SWFL. The league expanded from eight to ten teams, so no clubs were relegated.
The season began on 21 February 2020 but was interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic. In July 2020, the season was declared null and void. A new season began in October 2020 and finished in July 2021, with the league returning to a winter schedule.
