Network for Excellence in Health Innovation (NEHI) is a member-based, non-partisan health policy and research group based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It began in 2002 as the New England Healthcare Institute with 21 founding members and is now known as NEHI, with more than 80 member companies across the health care sector. The organization focuses on three main areas: medical innovation; reducing waste and inefficiency in health care; and wellness and prevention of chronic diseases. NEHI works through collaboration, research, and policy change to improve health care across the United States. It is led by CEO Wendy Everett, ScD, and Executive Director Valerie Fleishman, and has about 16 employees. Its website is nehi.net.

Over the years, NEHI has published more than 20 reports. Its first report, published in 2003, examined the economic contributions of the health care industry to New England. In 2004, it released reports on innovative technologies for cancer and heart failure. In 2005, NEHI partnered with The Boston Foundation for The Greater Boston Health Care Economy project. In 2008, it published the first reports identifying waste and inefficiencies in health care. In 2011, it dropped the regional acronym and opened offices in Washington, DC and San Francisco, expanding its national presence. In 2014, it adopted the current name, Network for Excellence in Health Innovation.
