2019–20 European Rugby Challenge Cup pool stage

The pool stage is the first part of the competition in its sixth season. Twenty teams are split into five pools of four. The five pool winners and the three best runners-up advance to the quarterfinals, making eight teams in total.

Dates and format
- The pool stage runs from 15 November 2019 to 18 January 2020.
- Teams are seeded into four tiers based on how they performed in their domestic leagues. The top seeds go into Tier 1, and teams from the Continental Shield (including developing rugby nations and certain Italian clubs) are placed in Tier 4.
- A draw in June 2019 allocated teams into pools.
- In the pool stage, each team plays the others in its pool twice (home and away).

Points and tie-breaks
- Scoring: 4 points for a win, 2 for a draw, 1 bonus point for scoring four or more tries in a match, and 1 bonus point for losing by seven points or fewer.
- If teams are level on points, tie-breakers determined by EPCR decide who advances.
