2019 Saskatchewan Roughriders season
The 2019 Saskatchewan Roughriders season was the team’s 62nd in the CFL and its 110th year overall. With Craig Dickenson as head coach and Jeremy O’Day in his first full season as general manager after Chris Jones’ departure, the Roughriders finished 13–5, their best record since 1970. They finished first in the West Division for the first time since 1976 and won the West title for the first time since 2009. The team made the playoffs for the third straight year and hosted a playoff game for the second consecutive year. In the West Final at Mosaic Stadium, Saskatchewan was defeated, ending their season.
Cody Fajardo was the team’s Most Valuable Player, Cameron Judge was the Most Outstanding Canadian, and Dakoda Shepley was the Most Outstanding Rookie. The season also featured the CFL’s first drafts of foreign players (Mexico and Europe) and Saskatchewan made six selections in the 2019 CFL Draft after a few trades. The Roughriders had a notable October road trip to accommodate the NHL’s Heritage Classic at Mosaic Stadium.
