Context
Forward Tyrol, which had 9.5% in 2013, did not contest in 2018. In total, the Landtag’s 36 seats are filled by open-list proportional representation across nine districts. A party must win at least one seat in a district or reach 5% statewide to gain representation; remaining seats are allocated to maintain overall proportionality.
Government formation
After negotiations, the ÖVP formed a coalition with the Greens. Günther Platter remained Governor, beginning a second term.
