Erythranthe montioides
Erythranthe montioides, commonly called the montia-like monkeyflower, is a small annual plant in the monkeyflower group. It is native to the Sierra Nevada and the foothills of California, and it has been found in the mountains near Carson City, Nevada. It grows in moist mountain areas and in disturbed, rocky soils. The plant is a hairy annual herb up to about 18 centimeters tall. Its leaves are opposite, narrow (linear), and up to 3 centimeters long. The tubular flower has a wide face and can be yellow, purple, or two colors; some populations show more than one color type. The face is divided into five lobes, each of which may be split into two. It was formerly known as Mimulus montioides. Its conservation status is Imperiled according to NatureServe.
