2017 Real Monarchs season

The 2017 Real Monarchs season was the club’s third season in existence and in the United Soccer League. The team was owned by Dell Loy Hansen, coached by Mark Briggs, and played its home games at Rio Tinto Stadium. Chandler Hoffman was the top scorer with 16 goals.

In 2016, the Monarchs finished with 10 wins, 6 draws and 14 losses, placing 11th in the Western Conference and missing the playoffs. Ricardo Velazco led the team with six goals that season and signed with Real Salt Lake ahead of 2017.

In 2017, the Monarchs’ notable results included a 5–2 win at home over Colorado Springs on May 20, a 4–1 home win over Seattle on July 8, and a 3–0 win at Reno on September 30. Their tougher days included a 2–0 loss at Tulsa on July 1 and a 2–0 loss at Oklahoma City on August 5.
