2015–16 TCU Horned Frogs men's basketball team
The 2015–16 TCU Horned Frogs men's basketball team represented Texas Christian University in the 2015–16 NCAA Division I season. They were led by fourth-year head coach Trent Johnson. Home games were played at Schollmaier Arena, which reopened in December after a $72 million upgrade; some early non-conference games were held at the TCU University Recreation Center and the Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center while construction finished.
They finished the season with a record of 12–21 overall and 2–16 in the Big 12, placing last in the conference. In the Big 12 tournament, they beat Texas Tech in the first round and lost to West Virginia in the quarterfinals.
On March 14, 2016, head coach Trent Johnson was fired, ending his four-year tenure at TCU with a 50–79 record.
Context: In the previous 2014–15 season, the Frogs started 14–0 and reached as high as #25, finishing 18–15 overall (4–14 in the Big 12) and advancing to the Big 12 tournament quarterfinals before losing to Kansas.
