2011 Stoke-on-Trent City Council election

Elections to Stoke-on-Trent City Council were held on 5 May 2011. This was the first election after a boundary review by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England, and the council size was reduced from 60 to 44 councillors.

The new arrangement has 31 single-member wards, 5 two-member wards, and 1 three-member ward. This election was the first under a system of electing all councillors every four years, instead of electing one third of councillors each year.

After the election, seats were: Labour 34, Conservative 2, Others (independents and unaffiliated) 8. Labour formed a large majority. Liberal Democrats were eliminated, and some right-wing populist and far-right groups did not win seats. The second largest group is independent councillors.

The net change and seat numbers are shown against the previous 60-seat council, explaining how every party could lose seats with the overall reduction to 44 seats. Vote shares are based on valid votes; in multi-member wards, voters could cast as many votes as there are seats. Elected candidates are shown in bold in the original list, and sitting councillors from the old council are marked with an asterisk.
