The 2009–10 Appalachian State Mountaineers men’s basketball team represented Appalachian State University during the 2009–10 NCAA Division I season. Led by Buzz Peterson in his first year back as head coach, the Mountaineers played their home games at the George M. Holmes Convocation Center in Boone, North Carolina, as members of the Southern Conference.

They finished with a 24–13 overall record and went 13–5 in the SoCon, winning the North Division title. In the SoCon tournament, they won two games to reach the championship, but were defeated by Wofford, the South Division champion. With no NCAA tournament bid, they received an invitation to the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT). The Mountaineers won their first two CIT games to reach the semifinals, where they lost to Pacific, 64–56. Final record: 24–13.
