The 2009 Norgesmesterskapet i fotball for herrer was Norway’s 104th national cup competition. The tournament began with two qualifying rounds in April and finished with the final on 8 November. Defending champions were Vålerenga. Aalesund won the Cup, securing their first title, by beating Molde in the final. As winners, Aalesund qualified for the third qualifying round of the 2010–11 UEFA Europa League.
Overall, 281 teams entered (128 in the main competition). There were 127 matches and 489 goals scored (about 3.85 per match). The top scorer was Mame Biram Diouf with 6 goals.
