Hoofddorp railway station
Hoofddorp railway station
Hoofddorp station is in the town of Hoofddorp, Netherlands, on the Weesp–Leiden railway. An earlier Hoofddorp station existed from 1912 to 1935 on the Haarlemmermeerspoorlijn; that building is now a residence. The current station opened on 31 May 1981 and was rebuilt in 1998. West of the station is a depot, which is why many Sprinter trains terminate there; Intercity trains to Schiphol also use this depot.
The station has two platforms and six tracks. Buses stop at street level beneath the station, while ZuidTangent lines 300 and 310 stop at a platform-level stop next to the station. All buses are operated by Connexxion; lines 300 and 397 depart from the viaduct next to the station.
Train services: Hoofddorp is served by Sprinter trains calling at Schiphol Airport and connecting to destinations such as Hoorn, Lelystad, Leiden, Utrecht, and Amsterdam.
