Statute of Autonomy of Cantabria
The Statute of Autonomy of Cantabria is the main law that defines how Cantabria governs itself within Spain. It sets Cantabria’s powers, the government bodies, and the institutions of self-government. It is Organic Law 8/1981, adopted in December 1981 and published in the Official State Gazette in January 1982. Since then it has been amended to expand powers and to define provisional articles.
