2002 Barking and Dagenham London Borough Council election
Elections to Barking and Dagenham London Borough Council were held on 2 May 2002. All 51 council seats were up for election after boundary changes since 1998. The Labour Party kept overall control but fell back by five seats, leaving them with 42 seats.

- The election followed boundary changes since 1998.
- There were several by-elections during the council term due to deaths and resignations, including after the deaths of Susan Bramley, Lawrence Bunn, Daniel Felton, Robert Jeyes, Vera Cridland, Darrin Best, John Wainwright, and the resignations of Sidney Summerfield, Matthew Huggins, and Daniel Kelly.
