Official results of the Men's Shot Put at the 1997 IAAF World Championships in Athens, Greece. The initial winner, Oleksandr Bagach, was later disqualified for doping. In qualifying, a throw of 19.80 meters (Q) automatically qualified, and at least the 12 best performers (q) advanced to the final.
