Diocese of Santísimo Salvador de Bayamo y Manzanillo

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Santísimo Salvador de Bayamo y Manzanillo is in Cuba. It is part of the Latin Rite and is a suffragan diocese of the Archdiocese of Santiago de Cuba. Established on December 9, 1995, it covers 8,362 square kilometers in the Province of Santiago de Cuba. The diocese has 9 parishes and, as of 2004, about 222,000 Catholics (26.7% of a total population of 832,644). The cathedral is the Cathedral of the Most Holy Saviour (Santísimo Salvador) in Bayamo. The bishop is Álvaro Julio Beyra Luarca.
