1986 Falkland Islands status referendum
On 2 April 1986, the Falkland Islands held an unofficial referendum on its status. The survey showed 96% supported remaining under British sovereignty, with 88% of registered voters participating. The questionnaire was sent to all registered voters by the Falkland Islands Association and the Marplan Institute. Marplan released the results on 2 April as the Falkland Island Sovereignty Survey.
