Tiana Nobile
Tiana Nobile is a poet based in New Orleans. She works at KID smART, an arts education nonprofit, and is a Korean American adoptee. Her debut poetry collection, Cleave, was published in 2021 by Hub City Press.
She has a BA from Sarah Lawrence College, an MAT in elementary and special education from the University of New Orleans, and an MFA in Poetry from Warren Wilson College. She also wrote a chapbook, The Spirit of the Staircase, published in 2017 by Antenna with artwork by Brigid Conroy. The title comes from the French phrase l’esprit de l’escalier, meaning the perfect comeback you think of after the moment has passed. Nobile received the 2017 Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers' Award and the Lucy Grealy Prize for Poetry from Sarah Lawrence College. She has been a finalist for the National Poetry Series and the Kundiman Poetry Prize, is a Kundiman Fellow, and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
