1981 Intertoto Cup

This year had 36 teams. The teams were split into nine groups of four. There were no knockout rounds, so there was no overall winner. The group winners were Wiener Sport-Club, Standard Liège, SV Werder Bremen, FK Budućnost Podgorica, Aarhus Gymnastikforening, R.W.D. Molenbeek (1909), IFK Göteborg, Stuttgarter Kickers, and FK Hvězda Cheb. A total of 108 matches were played.
