1954 AAA Championship Car season
1954 AAA Championship Car season: The series had 13 races, starting May 30 in Speedway, Indiana and ending November 14 in Las Vegas, Nevada. There was one additional non-championship race in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Jimmy Bryan was the national champion, and Bill Vukovich won the Indianapolis 500. Bob Scott died in the Independence Day Sweepstakes at Darlington. Scoring: Points were awarded to the car, not just to a single driver. If more than one driver raced the same car, the points were shared according to how much of the race each driver completed.
