Obernholz is a small municipality in the Gifhorn district, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It includes six villages: Bottendorf, Steimke, Schweimke, Wettendorf, Wentorf and Wierstorf. The area covers about 37.8 square kilometers and sits at about 84 meters above sea level. As of December 2023, around 821 people live there, with a population density of about 22 residents per square kilometer. Obernholz is part of the Hankensbüttel municipal association. The postal code is 29386, the area code is 05832, and the car registration code is GFO. The mayor is Werner Rodewald.
