1947–48 Western Football League

The 1947–48 Western Football League season was the league’s 46th. Trowbridge Town won Division One, earning their third title and second in a row. Salisbury won Division Two; this Salisbury was a new club formed after the previous Salisbury club disbanded. Two games in each division were not completed and were disregarded in the final tables.

Division One stayed at 18 clubs, with two clubs promoted to replace Frome Town and Welton Rovers, who were relegated to Division Two. Division Two grew from 13 to 18 clubs, after Clandown and Soundwell were promoted to Division One and Thorney Pitts disbanded. Eight new clubs joined the league.
