The 1931 Copa de Competencia Jockey Club decided the champion of Argentina’s 16th national cup. The final was played at All Boys stadium in Monte Castro on February 28, 1932, and finished 1–1 between Sportivo Balcarce and Almagro. A replay was held at Excursionistas’ stadium in Belgrano on March 3, 1932, where Balcarce won 4–1 and claimed its first and only top‑flight title. J. González of Balcarce was named Man of the Match.

The competition featured 40 clubs from Primera División and Primera B, plus Ferrocarriles del Estado, and was divided into six zones: North 1, North 2, South 1, South 2, South 3, and West. Balcarce, in North 2, reached the knockout rounds and beat Defensores de Belgrano 3–0 in the quarterfinals and Argentino de Quilmes in the semifinals. Almagro, in the West, topped their group and advanced to the semifinals, where they beat Barracas Central in a playoff after a 1–1 draw, in a match marked by disciplinary issues.
