Katakura Dam

Katakura Dam is a gravity dam in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. It is used for flood control and water supply. The dam is 42.7 meters high and 154 meters long. It creates a reservoir that holds about 8.41 million cubic meters of water and covers around 70 hectares when full. The catchment area is 18.6 square kilometers. Construction began in 1974 and the dam opened in 2000. Coordinates: 35°12′06″N 140°04′25″E.
