The 16th Karnataka Assembly was formed after the 2023 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election for all 224 seats. Elections were held on May 10, 2023, and results were announced on May 13, 2023. The INC forms the government, with Siddaramaiah as Chief Minister and D. K. Shivakumar as Deputy Chief Minister. The Assembly meets at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru, with a winter session at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi. The term runs from 2023 to 2028. There are 224 members. The Speaker is U. T. Khader and the Deputy Speaker is R. M. Lamani. The Leader of the Opposition is R. Ashoka of the BJP, with Arvind Bellad as Deputy Leader of the Opposition.
