Zoran, My Nephew the Idiot
Zoran, My Nephew the Idiot is a 2013 Italian-Slovenian comedy directed by Matteo Oleotto. It stars Giuseppe Battiston as Paolo, a broke, divorced man living near the Italy–Slovenia border in the town of Gorizia. On Sundays his ex-wife and her new husband invite him for a free meal. After an aunt on the other side of the border dies, Paolo learns he has a nephew named Zoran. Paolo isn’t very paternal, but Zoran is a natural at darts. He sees a chance for money if he adopts Zoran and enters him in a darts tournament in Scotland. The film is spoken in Italian and Slovenian and was shown in Critics’ Week at the Venice Film Festival.
