Zoran Džorlev
Zoran Džorlev (10 January 1967 – 1 January 2021) was a Macedonian violinist. He came from a musical family; his father Nasko was a famous folk composer and conductor. He learned several instruments before focusing on the violin and was known for his performances of folk songs. Džorlev served 14 years as the orchestra director of the Macedonian Opera and Ballet, including three years as Vice Concert Maestro. He later led Tanec, the national folk dance ensemble, for about six and a half years. He also worked with various musical groups, taught at several universities, and contributed to academic seminars. Džorlev died from complications related to COVID-19 in Skopje at the age of 53.
