Spodiopsar is a genus of Asian birds in the starling family (Sturnidae). It was created in 1889 by English ornithologist Richard Bowdler Sharpe to replace the name Poliopsar, which was already used for another group. The type species is the red-billed starling (Sturnus sericeus), described by J. F. Gmelin in 1789. The name Spodiopsar comes from Greek words meaning “ash-colored” (spodios) and “starling” (psar). The genus contains two species.
