Zlatko Papec
Zlatko Papec (17 January 1934 – 3 February 2013) was a Croatian football forward born in Zagreb who passed away in Split. He started at Lokomotiva Zagreb, where he formed a strong attacking lineup and played 57 league games from 1952 to 1955. After completing his military service, he joined Hajduk Split (1956–1964), appearing in 366 matches and scoring 167 goals for the club (177 league appearances and 55 league goals).
In 1964 he moved to Freiburger FC in West Germany, playing 130 games over four seasons. He returned to Yugoslavia in 1968 to play briefly for Rijeka and had a short stint with Junak Sinj in 1971–72. Overall, Papec played 368 club matches and scored 85 goals.
Internationally, Papec earned six caps for Yugoslavia between 1953 and 1956, scoring four goals. He debuted on 14 May 1953 against Belgium and his last game was on 23 December 1956 against Indonesia. He was part of the Yugoslav squad that reached the quarterfinals at the 1954 World Cup and won a silver medal at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics.
