Zhou Yafei (climber)
Zhou Yafei (周娅菲; born 15 May 2004), nicknamed Skateboard, is a Chinese speed climber from Lishui. She is 156 cm tall and has been competing since 2022, representing the Zhejiang Provincial Rock Climbing Team and coached by Zhong Qixin.
In 2023 she finished eighth in the women’s speed event at the IFSC Climbing World Championships. In 2024 she did well in the Olympic Qualifier Series: she won the first leg in Shanghai with a personal best of 6.54 seconds and came second in the second leg in Budapest, just 0.02 seconds behind Aleksandra Kałucka, earning a spot at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Zhou qualified in fourth place with a personal best of 6.389 seconds after an issue with the sensor pads delayed the start of her rounds. In the elimination heats, she defeated Beatrice Colli of Italy in 6.55 seconds but then lost in the quarterfinals to eventual bronze medalist Aleksandra Kałucka of Poland, finishing seventh overall.
