Yoritake Matsudaira
Yoritake Matsudaira (born August 17, 1938 in Kagawa, Japan) is a Japanese educator and Scout leader. He is the chairman of Hongō Gakuen, a Tokyo school system, and has served as president of Hongō Junior and Senior High School. He has held major roles in Scouting, including international commissioner and board member of the Scout Association of Japan, and he was involved with the Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Committee. He helped found the World Buddhist Scout Brotherhood and led the Kagawa Scout Council.
In 2003, Matsudaira retired as International Commissioner. In 2012, he received the Bronze Wolf Award, the World Organization of the Scout Movement’s highest honor, for his exceptional service to world Scouting. His father Yorihiro Matsudaira received the award in 1981.
Matsudaira studied at Waseda University and worked for Toshiba. He enjoys horseback riding, is an amateur radio enthusiast, and often speaks about the benefits of Scouting. He is related to the Tokugawa clan and has ancestral ties to Emperor Akihito.
