2015 ACC Championship Game
The 2015 Dr Pepper ACC Championship Game was played on December 5, 2015 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Clemson Tigers, undefeated in the ACC, faced the North Carolina Tar Heels, who were 11-1. Clemson won 45-37, with quarterback Deshaun Watson named the game’s MVP.
Both teams entered the game undefeated in ACC play, a first in ACC Championship history. The game drew a sell-out crowd of 74,514, and Clemson came in as the No. 1 team in the nation, while North Carolina was ranked about No. 8 in the AP poll and No. 10 in the CFP poll.
Late in the fourth quarter, North Carolina recovered an onside kick with a chance to tie, but a phantom offsides call forced a rekick, and Clemson recovered, sealing the win.
The victory helped Clemson stay strong in the pursuit of a spot in the College Football Playoff.
