William Nicolai
William Alvin Nicolai (May 15, 1890 – November 25, 1958) was a coach and professor at Temple University. He was Temple’s seventh head football coach, from 1914 to 1916, and his football record at Temple was 9 wins, 5 losses, and 3 ties. In his final season, Temple played six games and allowed only 14 points in total. Nicolai also coached Temple basketball from 1913 to 1917 and taught as a professor at the university. He was born in Union Hill, New Jersey, and died in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at age 68.
