William H. Jordan (California politician)
William H. Jordan (September 3, 1849 – February 14, 1939) was a Republican politician from California. He served in the California State Assembly representing the 55th district from 1885 to 1889 and was Speaker of the Assembly from January to March 1887. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he died in Toledo, Ohio. He was the uncle of Frank M. Jordan, who later became California Secretary of State.
Jordan married three times. His first wife, Alice Wildes Thompson, was his partner from 1874 until her death in 1876; they had one daughter. He then married Mary Floretta Knowlton in 1879, with whom he had four children. In 1894 he married Mary Lawrence Treanor, and they had one son. In total, he had six children.
