White Mountain Products
White Mountain Products makes ice cream makers and is part of the Sunbeam line, under Newell Brands. The company began in 1872 as White Mountain Freezer Company in Laconia, New Hampshire. A factory fire in 1881 forced a move to Nashua, New Hampshire. Another fire in May 1930 led to a new plant on Broad Street in Nashua. In 1963 the company was sold to the Alaska Freezer Company of Winchendon, Massachusetts. In 1974 an investor group led by William H. Potter Jr. bought it and renamed it White Mountain Freezer, Inc. It later changed hands to Berkshire Partners and was sold to Jarden Corporation in 2005. Jarden merged with Newell Rubbermaid in 2016 and became Newell Brands, which now includes White Mountain Products in its Sunbeam line.
