Weisslingen
Weisslingen is a small municipality in the Pfäffikon district in the canton of Zürich, Switzerland. It covers about 12.8 square kilometers and sits at an elevation of 576 meters. The population was 3,365 in December 2020.
Most of the land is used for farming (about 45%) and forests (about 44%). Built-up areas with houses and roads make up around 10%, with a tiny share being water or rough terrain. The community is mainly German-speaking. Unemployment is very low, and the area has seen population growth of around 10% over the previous decade. The economy is mostly services, with some agriculture and manufacturing.
In religion, most residents belong to the Protestant Swiss Reformed Church, with a significant Catholic minority. Weisslingen is bordered by Illnau-Effretikon, Kyburg, Russikon, Wildberg, and Zell.
Overall, Weisslingen is a quiet, green community with a strong services sector and a high level of education among its residents.
