Washington legislative districts
Washington has 49 legislative districts. Each district elects one state senator and two state representatives to the state legislature. The districts’ borders are drawn through redistricting, with the latest changes in 2024 after a court case. The lines are drawn by the Washington State Redistricting Commission, a five-member body made up of four members appointed by the Legislature’s party leaders and a fifth non-voting chair. The current districts reflect the March 2024 redistricting. Current members are listed on the Washington State Senate and Washington House of Representatives websites.
