Warning: Parental Advisory
Warning: Parental Advisory is a 2002 American television comedy-drama film directed by Mark Waters and written by Jay Martel. It follows Dee Snider, John Denver, and Frank Zappa as they testify before Congress about lyrics labeling laws and the rise of the Parents Music Resource Center, looking at how this controversy affected music in 1985. The film stars Jason Priestley, Mariel Hemingway as Tipper Gore, Griffin Dunne as Zappa, and Snider playing himself. Snider’s opening speech in the movie is the same one he gave in 1985. It aired on VH1 on April 21, 2002, and runs 100 minutes. Executive producers are Steven Haft, Stephen Tao, and Melissa Cobb; producers are John J. McMahon and Howard Griffith. Music by Christopher Lennertz; cinematography by Alex Nepomniaschy; editing by Pamela Martin. Production companies are Haft Entertainment, ROI Films, and Wilshire Court Productions.
