WBRN (AM) is a news/talk radio station in Big Rapids, Michigan. It broadcasts on 1460 AM with 5,000 watts by day and 2,500 watts at night and also streams on 96.5 FM through translator W243EN. The station brands itself as Newsradio 1460 & 107.7 FM WBRN.
WBRN first went on the air in 1953. The call letters stand for Big Rapids, Michigan. It is owned by Mentor Partners and is licensed by the FCC as a Class B station.
Programming is mostly syndicated talk shows on weekdays from Premiere Networks, including Michigan's Big Show with Michael Patrick Shiels, The Rush Limbaugh Show, The Sean Hannity Show, and Coast to Coast AM. Weekends feature Fox News Radio. The station is affiliated with the Michigan Radio Network and carries Detroit Lions programming.
Historically, WBRN also rebroadcast on FM translator W299BE at 107.7 FM in Big Rapids, making it the first Michigan AM station to add an FM translator. In March 2008, W299BE had been simulcasting WYBR and now carries WWBR.
