Wizardry (The Edge)
Wizardry (The Edge), also known as Spell of Destruction, is an adventure game with some action and light role-playing elements for the Commodore 64. It was published by The Edge in 1985 for North America and Europe. The game was programmed by Steven T. Chapman (author of Quo Vadis) and features music by Clever Music (Graham Jarvis and Rob Hartshorne) under the alias Mike Alsop.
Reception was mixed but positive overall. Zzap!64 praised the graphics and sound but found the puzzles overly obscure, giving the game 71%. Commodore User rated it 4.2 out of 5 stars. Computer and Video Games scored it 90 out of 100. Eric Doyle of Your Commodore praised the graphics, music, and engaging puzzles, awarding 7/10 for originality, 8/10 for playability and value, and 9/10 for graphics. German magazine Happy Computer gave it 74 out of 100.
