Vladimir Plekhanov
Vladimir Plekhanov (born 20 October 1920) was a Russian firearms designer in the 20th century. He should not be confused with Vladimir G. Plekhanov, the computer scientist who studies isotopes. In the 1940s, Plekhanov worked closely with Mikhail Kalashnikov, the designer of the AK-47. Some say Plekhanov obtained a German Sturmgewehr 44 and showed it to Kalashnikov in the early 1940s, though Kalashnikov has denied that the AK-47 is based on the StG 44.
