Vince Anderson (mountaineer)
Vince Anderson is an American mountaineer, writer, and manager of a mountain-guide company from Ridgway, Colorado. In 2005 he and Steve House made the first alpine-style ascent of the Central Pillar of the Rupal Face on Nanga Parbat in northern Pakistan. The route, about 4100 meters tall with technical grades M5 X, 5.9, and WI4, was climbed September 1–8, 2005. They won the 2006 Piolet d'Or for this climb.
