Vilnius Kenesa
The Vilnius Kenesa (Vilniaus kenesa) is a Karaite Jewish synagogue in Vilnius, Lithuania. It is located at 6 Liubarto Street in the Žvėrynas district.
Built between 1908 and 1923, it was designed by architect Mikhail Prozorov in Historicist and Moorish Revival styles. The building features brick and a dome, with Moorish-style decoration on the exterior windows. It was consecrated in 1923.
From 1923 to 1941 it served as a kenesa, the Karaite place of worship. In 1949 it was nationalized and used as a club, an archive, and flats. The Kenesa was returned to the Karaite community on 23 September 1988, and between 1989 and 1993 it was reconstructed with its original interior plan and decor restored. Since 1993 it has remained an active kenesa.
